With the recent news of Aion (temporarily) no longer requiring Gameguard (na.aiononline.com/en/news/aion-launch-version-1.html), many of us may want to uninstall it. Hopefully this helps some of you out with this process.

How To Uninstall Gameguard
-Most importantly, don't remove Gameguard yet! Wait until the game has been fully patched to the retail version. There is still at least one more patch to download until head start begins, so wait just a couple more days! This is due to the fact that the NCLauncher STILL requires Gameguard, so you may be unable to download the new patch without Gameguard installed (unknown: just an educated guess).
-AFTER you have fully patched the game (ie: it's Sunday, Sept 20 and you are logged in and playing), follow the steps at www.brighthub.com/video-games/pc/articles/1709.aspx to remove Gameguard.

-After removal of Gameguard, do a full scan with www.ccleaner.com/. (Great tool btw - freed up 1gb of space on my old PC a while back :P).

Please note that removal of Gameguard is entirely optional. If you plan on playing Aion for the forseeable future, you will (most likely) need to have it installed again at a later date. Whether this date is 3 months or 2 years from now, it seems inevitable. Gameguard should not affect your system at all (even if it did before) because the NCLauncher will no longer be updating and running it every time you load up Aion.
